Pieroth Estate, located in the small German village of Burg Layen, dates back to the early 1700s and spans over 11 generations of winemakers. Vines of Riesling, the most famous grape of the area, sit nestled on Schlossburg’s south slope and just within sight of the estate. This tranquil setting helps to make wines that are equally elegant, minerally and fruity. The 2018 Burg Layer Schlossberg Riesling subtly balances both sweetness and acidity with a wine that is complex and which lingers on the tastebuds, offering aromas of ripe honeydew melons.
